How Much Distance Should There Be Between Eero Devices?

For the best experience, when wireless, eeros and eero Beacons should be no more than 50 feet apart of at least another eero.

Depending on your home, this can vary. However, eeros are flexible to be placed around the home, and the eero app will take you through best placement to ensure you are getting the most out of your system.

If you eeros are all wired together via Ethernet, the space between eeros is a bit more flexible, however, wireless coverage is still depending on the structure of the home.

What is the range of Each Eero Device?

Generally, one eero can cover up to 1,500 square feet.

However, eero’s range may vary based on characteristics of your home including, but not limited to, its building materials, layout, interference, and eero placement.

What should and shouldn’t be connected to an Eero Device?

To configure your network properly, your gateway eero must be connected directly to your modem with no other devices in between. If you want to use a switch in addition to your eeros, you can connect a switch to any of your eeros, but it should not be placed between the main eero and your modem. The order should be:

Modem > eero > switch

You can also connect your eeros to each other wirelessly or via a wired Ethernet connection. Additional devices like external hard drives or printers can also be connected to your eeros via Ethernet.

The USB port on your eero is currently only for diagnostic purposes. Please don’t connect anything to your eeros via USB.

How Much Power Does Eero Use?

Eero uses 5-7 watts of power when it’s in use. When it’s idle it uses only 3 or 4 watts.
