MaxxSouth Broadband Sponsors 9th annual Miss-i-sippin’ Beer Festival
OXFORD, Miss. (March 23-25, 2018) — Mississippi residents are invited to take a break from the busyness of life to attend the 9th annual Miss-i-sippin Beer Festival, which will be held in Oxford on March 23-25. The three-day event is a fundraiser for the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council and is being sponsored by various Mississippi organizations, including MaxxSouth Broadband.
“I’m honored that businesses would come together to help raise funds to keep our program running,” said Wayne Andrews, executive director of the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council. “The sponsorships also help us build relationships with others so that we are stronger as an organization.”
The festival commences on Friday night with the Brewers’ Banquet—an activity featuring food, games and craft beer. Attendees will also be able to talk with the owners or the brewers of the various breweries involved in the beer festival.
On Saturday, members of the community will compete for beer swag and prizes by participating in a scavenger hunt designed to connect people with Oxford’s craft beer scene. The night concludes with the Firkin Craft Beer Party, which features beer tasting, food trucks, live music and fun games.
The event wraps up on Sunday with the Beer Brunch being held at Southern Craft. A complete schedule of festival events—including activity dates, times and locations—can be found at oxfordarts.com/events/sippin.
MaxxSouth is sponsoring the festival for the second year in a row. The company’s contributions have not only helped the festival take place, but have also provided the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council with a chance to better share its story of creative influence.
“We love showing our appreciation by supporting local events in our community,” said Rick Ferrall, Regional General Manager/VP of Government and Regulatory Relations for MaxxSouth Broadband. “When we all work together, we make Mississippi a better place to live.” To learn more about the beer festival and to purchase tickets for the event, visit oxfordarts.com or call 662-236-6429.
